We would like to update you on the entry procedure to Sweden with regards to COVID19 based on the following.

Entry from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland:

No requirements according to Vaccine or test.

Entry from from EU/EES:

Foreign nationals must present one of the following:

  • Certificate of EU accepted vaccination against COVID-19
    (Biontech / Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson)
  • Certificate of a negative COVID-19 test, not older than 72 hr
  • Certificate of recovery from COVID-19.

Entry from from outside EU/EES:

  • Same rules as for Travelers above from EU/EES (NB: EU-accepted vaccine) and
  • Invitation from Swedish Biathlon Federation to top level sport competition (e-mail to all Nations 11.11.)

Teams travelling to Östersund by air via Stockholm-Arlanda will have their luggage directly transferred to the flight to Östersund when travelling all connected flights operated with the following airline companies of Star Alliance, SAS, Air China, Thai, Turkish Airlines, TAP, Ethiopian, Finnair, Aegean.
In other cases, the luggage must be picked up in Stockholm-Arlanda before customs and re-checked in to the next flight.

The transports of the participating teams from Åre/Östersund Airport, the railway station and the bus station in Östersund to the hotels are arranged by the organizer free of charge.

The transfer at Arrival must be ordered in advance via Appendix D no later than 10.11.2021


Many teams will be leaving on Monday 06.12. so there must be check in already Sunday evening.

Please be prepared to send one person from the Team with all luggage to the Airport, starting 20:00.  The Airport has security all night.
It is important that all luggage is checked in on Sunday so there is no delay on the departures on Monday. (Many has connecting flights to catch). 

Important information for the CHARTER flights-

Sunday 5th December:  Pre check in at OSD airport

  • Only team leaders who are vaccinated with an EU approved vaccine (and respective documentation) are allowed to check in all baggage for the team on Sunday evening.
  • There will be Security all night at the Airport to keep everything safe
  • Team leaders should bring their passenger manifest for the team and will be issued with boarding passes for passengers who are vaccinated to EU standards/ have EU COVID pass

Monday 6th December:  Departure from OSD

  • Anyone who is not vaccinated to EU standards/ does not have an EU digital covid pass will have to check in and get boarding passes on Monday, provided they can show necessary documents to prove they meet the entry requirements for Austria at the pre check in.
  • Other passengers who already have boarding passes from team representatives can proceed directly to security and the gate
  • Prior to boarding handling agents will check EU Digital COVID certificates/ COVID documents.
  • Upon arrival in Salzburg passengers should be ready to show documents proving they meet Austrian entry requirements

Pick up time on Sunday and on Monday will be confirmed by OC Taxi and handed out in the mailboxes, Competition Office.
